Community support as a good corporate citizen is an essential policy of IJC's.  IJC through it's membership in the Federation of World Youth Nagano *FOWY* for the past 10 years has supported such projects as: Up With People on the last 4 of their Japanese tours; sister city projects with American and Canadian cities; funding of an elementary school in Bangladesh; funding for troubled foreign wives living in Nagano; and hosting 15 contingents from all over the world including USA, Israel, The Phillipines, Poland, Romania, Australia and Austria when they visited Nagano.  IJC not only provides funding but also devotes time and interpreting services to this most outstanding organization which was the first of its kind in Nagano when it started 28 years ago.
There are 70 members of FOWY who are all residents of Nagano.  While most of the members are Japanese long-term residing foreigners also join.  Presently there are Canadian, American, Brazilian, Chinese and Phillipino members as well.  The FOWY annual program is listed below.
	The group holds monthly meetings at Koseiken in Ueda, Nagano on the 3rd Tuesday of each month from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
